There Will Be Blood at Bloody Belgium on Saturday!

Bloody Belgium

Saturday the 2nd of September we will present our Bloody Belgium program at the BUT Film Festival 2017!

With special guests:❖ Steve de Roover, writer and director of Forgotten Scares: An In-depth Look at Flemish Horror Cinema (2016).
This feature-length documentary goes back to the birth of Flemish horror in the '70s and shines a bright light on the future of horror in Belgium and will be screen at our festival. The viewer gets a chance to discover long forgotten – and even unfinished – genre gems and learn in-depth info about underrated ‘splatter and gore’-fests, post-apocalyptic movies, slasher-films, nazisploitation, women-in-prison and other fantastical Flemish genre benders through the eyes of the directors, producers, composers, principal actors and genre experts. Forgotten Scares: An In-depth Look at Flemish Horror Cinema is illustrated by rare behind the scene footage, classic film scenes, production stills, promotional art and even never before seen videos from the vaults of the filmmakers. Featuring: Charlotte Anne Bongaerts, Evelien Bosmans, Harry Kümel, Jan Verheyen, Johan Vandewoestijne, Jonas Govaerts, Pieter Van Hees, Sven De Ridder and Léon-Paul de Bruyn (also present!).

Maniac Nurses (1990).
Lolita meets Ilsa in this crazy culfilm by Troma! Three nurses in sexy lingerie working in a remote clinic, hidden deep in the forrest are luring men to their ‘hospital’ to subject them to horrifying torture. A gang of feminist terrorists threaten to endanger their practices in an attempt to recrute them for their revolution. A bloodbath is innevitable! Much like the cultclassic Rabid Grannies, Parts of the Family and The Afterman, this gem also originates from the rich B-film culture from Belgium. Non other then Lloyd ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Kaufman released Maniac Nurses through his infamous Troma-label. A must see for bloodred cultfilm lovers!
